Bio

Andrew Brown is a young up and coming musician, producer, and artist from Dearborn, Michigan. Currently a jazz trumpet student at Michigan State University,  he recently has begun releasing his own hand crafted musical projects. Still only 20, Andrew has already played with and studied with many of the best musicians on the Detroit jazz scene.  You can hear influences of all genres in his music, which he hopes can bring people together.

In 2022 Andrew released his self-produced debut record "Lovely", a journey through heartbreak through the medium of popular music. The album featured many of his friends and peers from MSU, and was defined by the Dearborn Free Press as "pop, but it does draw inspiration from other musical genres, including R&B, soul, indie, and jazz." Since then Andrew has released various singles and collaborations, but the next major project is scheduled to release in 2025.

Outside of his pursuits in music production, Andrew is already a professionally gigging jazz trumpet player. A finalist in the 2024 MJF Rising Star Horn Improvisation Competition, his name is starting to get called more and more as he works his way up. Andrew is under the current mentorship of Anthony Stanco and Rodney Whitaker, and has learned in the past from Detroit mainstays like Kris Johnson, Vincent Chandler, Scott Gwinell, Marcus Elliot, and Rayse Biggs. Through MSU's top notch jazz program, Andrew has had the opportunity to play and tour with legends like Renee Rosnes, Jazzmeia Horn, Stefon Harris, Marquis Hill, Geoffrey Keezer, Carmen Bradford, Camille Thurman, and of course, the rest of the all star faculty of Michigan State. Named as an alternate for the 2024 International Trumpet Guild's jazz competition, Andrew is starting to see his hard work and dedication to the music pay off.
